En “stjerne” med en helt særlig betydning

A “star” with a very special meaning

Under a starry sky on a winter evening, Sigge proposed to Victoria

Victoria Bell, 23. Ballet dancer at the Royal Danish Theatre & Sigge Tommerup, 22. Runs his own creative business “Sigge Creative” in photography, DJing, and event planning. Together they live in a ground-floor apartment in Amager with their own garden.

We visited the couple on a sunny day in September at their cozy apartment in Amager to talk about their beautiful love story and the ring Sigge had specially made by us to propose to Victoria.

The Meeting

It has been three years since Sigge and Victoria met for the first time. Sigge works as a creative entrepreneur, but is also a DJ, and it was behind the decks at a backyard festival that he met Victoria for the first time.

“That evening I ended up spending more time behind the DJ booth than on the dance floor,” says Victoria, who is a ballet dancer at the Royal Danish Theatre.

With Victoria’s busy career, Sigge knew he would have to go the extra mile to see her again. So he showed up at Victoria’s door and insisted that, despite her busy lifestyle, they should become more than friends. The couple has been together ever since.

Sigge hadn’t really given much thought to getting married. It all came very naturally to him when he fell in love with an engagement ring that reminded him of Victoria, who has always been fascinated by the stars and the universe.

“I love the stars. We used to look at the stars a lot when Sigge was doing his military service, reminding each other that we were looking at the same stars every evening,” Victoria says.

The ring ended up being made exactly to Sigge’s wishes, so he could get the perfect ring for Victoria.

Under the Starry Sky in Sweden

Although some of the most symbolic elements of a proposal were already in place, it still took six months before the right moment came, says Sigge, who is usually a very spontaneous person.

The couple traveled to Sweden on New Year’s Eve, where they were going to celebrate the turn of the year among tall pine trees and red wooden cabins.

They made a delicious dinner and drank champagne.

“It was one of the best evenings we’ve ever had together,” says Sigge, who proposed to Victoria the next day.

In the evening, the couple sat outside in the woods under the starry sky

“I asked Victoria which star she would like to have. She pointed up at a star, and that’s when I pulled out the ring against the star, took it down to her, and proposed with it.”

Victoria said yes immediately.

“Of course I was happy to receive such a declaration of love. I had no doubt. Now I have the ring, which will forever remind me of our love. The ring has become my star,” says Victoria, who also says that the ring shines like a star when she wears it on stage.

For Sigge, it was important to give Victoria a declaration of love that, among other things, consisted of the ring being designed especially for her., and even though Victoria was surprised, everything felt completely natural.

“Of course I was surprised, but just as much as I was surprised, it also felt like the most natural and genuine thing to get engaged in a forest surrounded by the beautiful nature that I love,” Victoria says, looking down at her ring.

Inside the ring, which is made of 18 kt gold with a large center diamond surrounded by many small diamonds, there is an inscription that is very special to the couple.

“In the early days of our relationship, we used the phrase “a lot” very often. It’s a bit our love note. Because we live a life where we also spend a lot of time on our own, we need a language to show the other person that we are there. We light a candle and write a little note on the table for the other person to find when they come home. We always end the note with “a lot a lot a lot.””  (Which comes from “I love you a lot” red..)

That is why Sigge chose to have those words engraved all around the ring.

“It symbolizes that our love for each other has no end.”

The ring Victoria received from Sigge. Here you can see the engraving with the words: “A lot a lot a lot”, which continues all the way around.

Wilder and bigger and forever

The couple dreams of holding a big love celebration in 2025. They will get married at Holmens Church in Copenhagen. The priest will be the same person who confirmed Victoria. “She is someone special to me,” Victoria says. The wedding celebration itself will be held in a large, beautiful barn in Præstø.

Sigge and Victoria say that it will be a big celebration because they want to include everyone who means something to them. Both children, adults, and the elderly in the family. But also all their friends. It will be a big love celebration that will last for several days. A bit like their love note in the ring, the celebration can go on and on.

Sigge had a summer house in Præstø as a child and therefore has a connection to the town on South Zealand.

“We drove down there together and fell in love with it instead,” Victoria says.

Sigge is a former wedding planner, and therefore the couple has chosen to arrange their love celebration themselves.

“Our wedding is a celebration of life and love. Getting married is a love celebration for us, but that doesn’t mean we have to settle down. Many things will continue to happen in our lives—it can only get wilder and bigger,” says Victoria, who will forever have her and Sigge’s love connected in her own ‘star’ on her finger.
